The untold truth about your 3rd act. It's time to take charge.

Do you see yourself portrayed in AARP? What suggestions do you have for the leaders?

A Note From Colleen

Hi, friend.

One of the things I have noticed is the reality I am facing (we are facing) in our 50’s and 60’s and 70’s is vastly different from how we’re still portrayed in media and society - or not (we’re often skipped over entirely  or invisible).

I’m meeting some thought leaders this week from AARP that can truly help expand the conversation around this new 3rd Act. I’d love your feedback and to be able to bring your questions, voice and sentiments to the table.

Join The Movement - 2 Ways:

  2. Register for my upcoming August 18 (FREE) workshop on the A,B,C’s of starting a digital business after 50. Details below REGISTER HERE.

Thanks for being here.

The Reality Of The New 3rd Act Isn’t Being Talked About Nearly Enough

We’re younger, stronger and much more able-bodied than our parents and grandparents were at our age.

We have an entire ‘next life’ to live. At 57 I feel I have a solid 30-40 years ahead of me. That’s 3 or 4 decades - a whole lifetime. Those who went before us didn’t have this same opportunity. I believe we’re among the first to build this new 3rd Life. We get to totally reframe what ‘getting older’ looks like.

But, when I look online and in the media, we’re still (mostly) being portrayed in the old-fashioned, just retire and fade into the sunset and sit quietly in the corner kind of ageist way. We’ve also lived most of our lives believing in ‘the old way’, that somehow we’d just retire and go along…

We need to open the conversation. We could be headed for trouble if we don’t take control of our (long) future and plan accordingly now..

Most of us don’t have enough savings to live a quality life for the next 3 or 4 decades. Add to this rising costs, declining healthcare systems and a society that’s still ageist as hell puts us in a potentially bad bind.

Nobody’s coming to save us. We have to save ourselves.

You know I’m a proponent of learning the skills required to make money online. These skills will serve you well. The time spent learning is not wasted. Being in charge of making money, on your terms, puts you in the driver’s seat.

This week I am headed out of town for a special dinner with some thought leaders from AARP. These are the people in charge of expanding the conversation around longevity and what I am calling ‘the new 3rd Act’.

I want to share your voice: What are your biggest questions? Concerns? What keeps you up at night in regards to your 3rd Act? Money? Health? Housing? Other?

Also - I have a FREE Workshop coming up on August 18. I’d love to meet you there. More Details below.

I did a 90-minute TikTok live show this morning (I’m learning about TikTok and liking it more and more). Over 30 people joined me to talk about this ‘New 3rd Act’ and how we’re planning for it.

The consensus is we need a plan, but haven’t made a plan… yet.

What I shared is that my #1 goal right now is to let myself be open to ALL possibilities.

I don’t want to box myself into a future based on my previous life. We’re all given a set of beliefs and conditions as we grow up that we need to deconstruct when we’re older. It’s the only way to figure out who WE really are and what WE actually believe.

I’m keeping my mind open to try new things and consider ways of life and activities I haven’t previously considered.

What about you? Do you have a plan for these next decades; or, are you in the figuring out stage, too? Hit REPLY and let me know.

I’ll be laying out the A,B,C’s of building a digital business:

  1. What you need to put in place.

  2. What you need to know or learn.

  3. Commitments (realities)  involved.

  4. What it’s absolutely a GREAT solution to build a secure 3rd Act.

  5. The second half of our session will be an Ask Me Anything Open House.

There will be a limited-time replay following the event.
